Shooting

Shooting The games that include weapons that fire bullets or other projectiles is known as shooter games. Common for all these games, is that the player wants to handle the combat at distance. More weapons to choose from, will give the player more options and better position in the game. Another likeness is that the player often finds defeat, when being mobed or surrounded by the foes. To dodge fire from the enemies and keep an eye on potential sneak attacks, is often critical. Some shooters just gives one chance, before the player are down and have to restart a bit back in the game. Others are designed so that hits can be taken, then a need to replenish your health or shields to take more hits. Shooter games can have a limited amount of ammunition.
Part of the difficulty in that case is to use weapons sparsely. Sometimes run past enemies without defeating them, a method called "parking". To do maintenance runs, look for ammunition and other goodies is a big part of these shooting games. Exploring of the areas is a key doing and secret areas are known to be places of treasure!
But the player of this sort of game can also be in a lot better position, with powerful weapons. Unlimited ammunition is also common in those cases. A combination of the two makes a "Fire first ask later" type of gameplay. On the downside the player often have a poor shooting capacity after being defeated. The feeling of having to start over might be triggered after defeat. This makes it more important to avoid enemies and their missiles, until the power of the shooting ability is up again. Turning the game play to a "Run and gun" style for a while.
